How the 4 times table works
Multiplying by 4 means adding 4 to itself a certain number of times. For example, 4 × 3 means 4 added together 3 times. Once you know a few key facts - like ×1, ×2, ×5, and ×10 - the rest of the 4 times table becomes much easier to work out.

The 4 times table is simply the 2 times table doubled — if you know 2 × 6 = 12, then 4 × 6 is just double that, 24.
