How the 3 times table works
Multiplying by 3 means adding 3 to itself a certain number of times. For example, 3 × 3 means 3 added together 3 times. Once you know a few key facts - like ×1, ×2, ×5, and ×10 - the rest of the 3 times table becomes much easier to work out.
